Mark is the Chief People Officer (CPO) at Arcadis, a global design and engineering firm headquartered in Amsterdam, with 36,000 employees worldwide. Appointed as CPO in October 2024, Mark transitioned into the role after spending more than three years leading Arcadis’ largest Business Area as Global President.
Mark’s appointment as CPO was a bold and strategic move by Arcadis, leveraging his leadership, business acumen, and client-focus to support the evolution of the People function. As CPO, he focuses on workforce engagement, non-financial strategic goals, future skills development, and broader business-enabling strategies in collaboration with the CEO and CFO.
With a career in Arcadis spanning 12 years, Mark has held multiple senior leadership roles and was previously CEO for Arcadis UK & Ireland – one of the company’s largest regions.
During his career he has also worked in development, project leadership, commercial and supply chain roles, and construction litigation.
